Title: Real Ale Post by: Ian (Liverpool Boys) on May 16, 2012, 11:10:04 pm Any info about bars serving Real Ale in and around Le Mans,
A bar had it a couple of years ago in Le Mans town. Title: Re: Real Ale Post by: Grand_Fromage on May 16, 2012, 11:48:56 pm This one? "Union Jack, 32 Rue du Docteur Leroy"
Not sure if it is still operational. Title: Re: Real Ale Post by: clkgtrlm1 on May 17, 2012, 12:09:28 pm I believe it is still there - my friend in Le Mans has arranged for us to go and watch the football on Monday PM.

I can confirm that we are still open and we have the only real ales on tap (proper pumps) in Le Mans. We have two on offer: HANSY 69: our award winning bitter, named after my old man who loved his ales and; McGILVRAY's OLD BAYLEY our new golden ale with great flavours. Both ales are brewed by an English guy, just north of Alençon, who imports all the cereals and hops from England and has won various gold medals from competitions in Europe. If you love your ales, you'll love these. The pub is found on rue du docteur leroy (cant miss us with the British flag outside) which is just off the Place de la Republique (bottom left hand corner as you look at McDonalds) where they are doing the scrutineering this year. Hope to see you there! Phil Title: Re: Real Ale Post by: hansy69 on May 25, 2012, 02:13:13 pm Oh and another note, we will have all the EURO 2012 matches on live at the pub, with Fridays match being shown downstairs on a huge video projecter with English commentary!
