Title: Grandstand numbering
Post by: Nordic on January 29, 2012, 11:50:03 am
I cant for the life of me remember how the numbering works.

The rows are lettered, is A at the bottom or top?

Are the low numbers to the left when facing the grandstand?

Anyone know for certain as we would prefer not to be at home for professor cock up this year!

A is bottom
If facing grandstand from track, low to your left.
Been like that in the 5 different GS I've been in on the outside of the circuit.
Don't now about the GS above the pits.

I'll verify what Barry says.

The first few rows are a bit of a pain - you can get very wet or very hot, but by about 1.00, the shade from the roof covers all seats.  The biggest pain is that the view can be severely restricted by the plebs on the terraces with their flags, and you are still viewing the track through the catch fencing.

Not that you can specify what seats you want of course   :'( :'(

Cheers,

That tallys with the ACO site pictures.

You do know in advance which seats you get when you book online, but you cant choose. In the past we have been on the top right which has a restricted view so wanted to see which ones we had.

You can see your seat numbers AFTER you have booked and paid.

You don't have to pay, unless they change between registering and paying.

The numbers come up when they are in your basket, or at least they have for me today. But as the ACO are yet to master online booking I may end up at the Moto GP.

Must have improved the system since I last booked GS tickets.

This worked for me - at least with Chinetti ..............................

If you look at the PANORAMA view on the online booking system, you should be able to spin the camera view around through almost 180 degrees and look at the seats / rows number behind the camera position.

With a little careful calculation and pointing you can then count to the location of your seat numbers.

If you then right click on the panorama image and 'save as' the image you can view the whole image (looks like a fish eye view at first).
In the example attached, I have marked our seats using Windows Paint to show my team our seating positions.

If you open the image and zoom in to about 50% magnification, then look right, you should see what I  mean.
