Title: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: DelBoy on January 05, 2011, 04:13:15 pm Now that the so-called festive season is over and we have (hopefully) returned to a measure of sobriety, we can start to make serious plans for LM in June.
We did not have the CA T-shirts last year because a) I didn't have the time to organise it being in the middle of a major house refurbishment project and b) no-one else wanted to run with it. Picking up a few comments on the forum, it seems the T-shirts were missed by some, so firstly, I'd like to get a feel for the quantities that will be involved. If there appears to be sufficient demand, I will begin the (long and laborious!!) design process. So can you indicate how many shirts you will require. Many thanks Del Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 Post by: Paddy_NL on January 05, 2011, 04:26:29 pm Most probably a few DfHers would be interested, I for one.
Did I sent you the standard design for '10 or '11? Cannot remember, too many things happened in between :-X Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 Post by: Barry on January 05, 2011, 04:34:18 pm 1 here.

So have I and I didn't spot the gaff! ::)Nevertheless, we haven't done the 'Vettes yet so why not this year? Although don't know if there are any significant (especially for Fran) anniversaries this year? Still think we should do a 917 one year - iconic LM car - ditto the Ferrari 250 LM some time. Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 Post by: Steve Pyro on January 15, 2011, 11:15:24 am Still think we should do a 917 one year - iconic LM car - Well, it won in 1971 so that will be 40 years (we missed the 1970 win anniversary) Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 Post by: nopanic - neil on January 15, 2011, 03:35:55 pm SAINT SATURNIN this year are celebating Jaguar, so i read in a Jag mag.
And the E-type is 50 years And it is still a nice car, small (narrow) but nice :) not sure the years they entered Le Mans or Sebring. Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 Post by: Lord Steve on January 15, 2011, 06:43:24 pm It's 917 for me - why don't we have a poll?

Quite right. This was my idea for a mug last year (thanks Paddy for the Delaney V sign) Thats a lot to put on your face, Lorry :) :) I've let this topic roll for a while, and as Paddy says we now have sufficient numbers to make it viable (I was looking for a minimum of 50 shirts). I'll start a separate 'Order' thread after I check the prices with the supplier - they will have gone up a bit (extra VAT) and some increase since I last did them 2 years ago. Regarding design, the front will be the 'traditional' design (I feel it's like our trademark), and it looks like the 917 is out in front for the rear. Although I like the 'Vettes, we did miss the anniversary last year, and I am happy enough with the 917. Although we have had 2-beers McQ before, I would be quite happy to use him again with the 917 in front of him - something like Below (a bit crude, but I'm sure Rusty will provide!!) Del Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: Martini...LB on January 16, 2011, 06:19:26 pm Hi All
If anyone wants the original of McQ. I still have from when i did the original back. You have to bear in mind the limitations of the printing and colours though. >Martini...LB Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: knetter on January 17, 2011, 10:18:26 am Just make sure they don't resemble the T-shirts the ACO was selling last (and probably) this year.

Movie great and he undoubtedly had some amateur talent but not enough for me to treat him as the hero some seem to. Sorry. Besides he's been done before. But I will of course bow to the majority view.
I will now put my tin hat on and retire to my bunker. Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: Bob U on January 18, 2011, 03:31:26 pm I agree Deb. As much as SMQ is a part of Le Mans folklore he was hardly a world class race driver. if we need an anniversary for the shirt how about the 10th anniversary of the untimely death of Bob Wollek. Although he never won the race, in my opinion he was more of an icon of LM than SMQ will ever be.

I see that the design ideas dried up - again, my fault - I wasn't driving it. So, there is still time to get some shirts designed and printed, so let's have your ideas for the pic on the back. http://www.pescarolo.com/index.asp We would probably need a strap line to show the association eg. Other than that I think we should still make the effort of having a T shirt even if we only print on the front, or how about just the CA logo with dates? PH have got quite a nice theme but £20 without VAT or P&P seems a little dear. http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=23411 >Martini...LB Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: Werner on April 03, 2011, 10:41:17 am My 2 pennies:
Front: Classic CA Design Back: Trackmap - either marked with the real names like "Esses" , "Dunlop Chicane" and so on - or instead just put the current and previous CA landmarks roughly on them: "CA compound on BN", "DfH camp on MB", "Stella Bar", "CA Forum Meeting point for Saturday", "Shampoo bar" .... ;D Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: Doris on April 19, 2011, 09:09:12 am What's happening about this? Nice and simple with no copyright issues. I wouldn't be so sure about that.... ACO want fees from all sticker manufacturers for even using the track layout. I'd still go for it though - IF there's enough time to get these printed? Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: DelBoy on April 23, 2011, 02:49:24 pm OK Guys & Gals
Sorry - my bad :'( :'( I said I would run with this, but then got overtaken by events. I am just checking with the printer to see how long he needs, and with Paddy to see if he can do the car stickers again. If it's on, the order period will be quite short, so you'll have to order quickly. The design for the back will be as suggested above - a simple map of the circuit with perhaps a few 'landmarks' identified. The front, of course, will be the classic CA design. Can someone update the artwork for the front - just in case?? (Martini, Paddy???) Many thanks Del Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: crackit on April 24, 2011, 11:36:44 am Hi Delboy,
Is it too late to put my name down for 1 if you manage to get things sorted? xxl if poss. Thanks Crackit. Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: Lord Steve on April 24, 2011, 12:56:25 pm Hi Delboy
I think I originally asked for one but might want to increase that now and add car stickers if they are available. Will you be posting an order form here or will email / pm messages be ok for ordering purposes? Cheers Steve Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: DelBoy on April 24, 2011, 01:08:07 pm If it is still possible to get the shirts & stickers printed in time, I will be placing my usual (lengthy) posting giving all details, together with an order form.
As it is a holiday weekend, I don't expect answers until Tuesday, so keep your eyes peeled next week 8) 8) Del Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: LuxExpat on April 25, 2011, 11:11:38 am 8)

Sorry for the delay, I have been stuck in a dungeon all weekend (and the last month) completely gutting the bathroom and refurbing, so i have not seen too much daylight lately. Will do the front tonight, though might have to fatten up the 11 as this perhaps will not look right, will sort anyway. I also think I have a map of the circuit on my other Mac, but not sure where all the corners and areas, as mentioned in a previous email, as I do not move too far from my tent I don't know where everything is (I do really but do not tell anyone), can you, someone write on a map and send to me. Bloody hell I could have done the front in the time it has taken to write this. Also, I have just had mails to re-do my mates mountain biking brochure, no this is not an advert, but if you are into MB and Canada, try www.ticket2ridebc.com as well as all the brochure work I also designed the team racing and member shirts all FREE! You are indeed correct, I did the 2006 and 2008 versions using a different look, my front was not used on the 2008 shirt so I am not sure who did the artwork, perhaps Paddy or Rusty, Delboy will need to get in touch with them if we are going to keep a uniform look. >Martini...LB Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: DelBoy on May 03, 2011, 10:44:14 pm Been away for a few days, so I'll try to finish this off.
Paddy did the 'more accurate' CA logo last year, and I've asked him to have a go. Thanks for your efforts Martin, I prefer the Mark3 version. And the back is a possibility as well. Keep it simple this year!! Del Title: Re: T-Shirts LM 2011 DESIGN Post by: JDS on June 02, 2011, 02:24:24 pm ...... I started a major project digging my front garden!!
