Title: Alcohol free beer at the bars Post by: Christopher on June 17, 2010, 04:25:11 pm Did anyone else notice that the ACO / official bars after the race were only selling non-alcoholic beer?
We tried two behind the grandstands and were informed they could only sell non-alcoholic variety. My French was not good enough to determine if that was just a case of them running out of the real stuff, or if it was a new policy to restrict the flow of alcohol in the final stages of the race (drink driving amongst the locals perhaps?). I don't know if this was the case for the whole weekend with the official bars, or just a select few and I got unlucky in both cases. Or maybe the Pug team had bought up everything left to drown their sorrows....... I think it may have to do with the special licence to sell booze that expires at 3pm on Sunday.

After all it is difficult to have designated drivers for motor bikes. Title: Re: Alcohol free beer at the bars Post by: Christopher on June 22, 2010, 10:07:14 am Thanks for the explanation. |
