Hey Brian,  I'm here in Texas waiting for SpeedTv to start the 24 broadcast.  I miss being at the race.  I gather you are not there either.  Hope all is well with you and yours.  I often remember how hospitable you guys from Liverpool were to me when I came to the race.  I will never forget you folks, you made it an experience of a lifetime.  Thanks again!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi John, good to hear from you buddy, hope all is well in Texas, did you watch the qually? I was amazed how fast the pugs are, but I still think the Audi has a little more power up it's sleeve.

Hello anyone out there ::)
Yus mate, the S.E. London division of Skinner Tours are running it's 3rd "Virtual Le Mans" at home in Bexley, Kent.
Eurosport do a grand job & Radio Le Mans is a cracker.
It's all singing, all dancing without the Q for the loo.

Hello from the east coast of florida.  Tomorrow morning at 8am will be the 9th annual Breakfast at Le Mans at my house.  All our Sebring, Rolex 24, Petit Le Mans, and Indy 500 friends will be here...no NASCREW fans welcome!

Strange that, how you always finish up with single flip flop, where do all the other ones go ? ???

I've decided, not doing this again, even though I'm not being rained on it's proper 'orrible innit

Indeed it is Bill.

I got a call from some of the guys on BN earlier, and if it were possible I miss it even more than I already was.

No tent in the garden but a good stock of cider to get me through the race.   ;D

In honesty its only knowing that there's you guys in the same (OK Peter, similar ) boats that is keeping me sane-ish

I knew it would be hard and my reasons for not going arent entirely fiscal, though there IS an element of that which I could have been helped with by very good amigos offering to waft me along with them.

I'd rather be there wet than sat at this silly 'pooter here, dry

Doris enjoy the cidre, was you yere I'd happily get the next one in for you

and you Peter and all our other readers let's make the most of OUR weekend wherever we are

RLM on the pooter makes a difference though, Hindy and friends are a lifeline

cheers kids  hic!

I was going to set up the tent and camp out but there was a big welcome sign at my local club last night (an apparition) so I went there instead, watched warm up this morning which seemed very slippery, luckily very little damage to the cars.

Can't wait for the Classic now...

Lots of punctures and leaders

Ramping up nicely to the start, any more rain due, or will it dry out :)

Preparations going well here at home. BBQ dragged just outside the patio doors and I have just to head over to the farm shop for some burnable meet products. Beers are nicely chilled and laptop is ready for the RLM feed and live timing. All I need to do now is put the cordon tape across the door to the snug and halfway across the garden to keep the wife and kids out and it's all systems go!

Enjoy wherever you are watching and don't forget to keep calling in.

Hope that RLM will keep going, seems to need reboot fairly frequently at the mo

Enjoy everybody, will log in at regular intevals   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Getting into the spirit up here. Had a great bonus on the way back from the shops just before the start- the 'French' Market was in the town square! I've just had a big plate of Tartiflette and a Grand Marnier Crepe as as a late lunch with a big pot of Rillette on standby for later! The stall holder is a dead ringer for Luc Alphand too (explains why he's not driving then).

The wife and I are about to have some BBQ ribs and then some watermelon as I listen to Radio Le Mans until 5 when SpeedTv reconnects.  It's hot and very humid here, not at all like the weather in Le Mans right now.  ...but I can pretend can't I? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Cracking race. Shame GT2 battle has cooled now Melo is in the garage. Seems to be quite a few cars out. Does anyone know how many were out at this point last year?

Amazing that the JLOC Lambo is still trundling around.

Dr S

There were 4 out this time last year IIRC. 10 so far this year.

Shouldn't really moan about the 10 mins or so lost on Eurosport then

Coffee and chocolate digestives keeping me going at the moment, not sure when next re-fuelling will be required  :)

Cider and Doritos got me through the small hours after the start.

Sleep?  Good grief man, that will never do!!!  I want you to give yourself a damned good talking to and then start drinking.  It's the only thing for it.  I'm on breakfast cider as is my LM tradition.   ;D

What a race! So many twists and turns and still 7 1/2 hours to go.

Managed 90 mins sleep but with headphones with RLM on the go. Hindy woke me up shouting about the Pug engine fire.

Full cooked breakfast coming up  ;D

I woke up at 20 past 2 on the sette, but back there at 7.30. I reckon I have watched more this year at home than I would when I am there. The live timing on the computer helps as well.

I'll let you in on a secret John... It's easier to be awake for the whole race on my side of the world.  I don't know about gti jack (he's in NZ too) but I grabbed about 5 hours sleep before getting up for the start.  By the time I started to feel tired the sun was up and I had things to be getting on with.   ;D

Did not want the Pugs to win, but to see it chasing down the Audi's, then blow a turbo with 2 hrs to go you do have to feel for them. :'(

Absolutely.  Reminds me of my first LM when one of the McLaren F1's was going great guns before catching fire on the Mulsanne straight in the last few hours of the race.

I cant remember if it was 2006 or 2007 but I remember with about an hour to go a blue porsche stopped on the start/finish straight with a broken drive shaft with less than an hour to go. That must be gutting  :(
