Its just not as much fun as it used to be, and the ACO are such hard work for nothing. Plus for the Brits, do we really care if Audi or Peugeot win, and the booze isn't cheap any more. Its a lot of effort Our team appears to be disbanding, so it may just be me next year, if I can be bothered. For the same money I can go somewhere else and watch the videos Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: mike(liverpool boys) on June 04, 2010, 04:33:21 pm I suspect that the drop off rate for old timers is high this year :( Its just not as much fun as it used to be, and the ACO are such hard work for nothing. Its a lot of effort Our team appears to be disbanding, so it may just be me next year, if I can be bothered. For the same money I can go somewhere else and watch the videos Im blaming it on the credit crunch and gordon brown ::) Give it a couple of years of not going and im sure it will regain its magic ;D Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Lorry on June 04, 2010, 05:26:45 pm I'm blaming Gordon Brown for everything as he's frozen the banking system, and if the current idiots do anything there'll be an avalanche
Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Brad Zarse on June 04, 2010, 05:49:38 pm Im also scratching around to justify it this year - it's an awesome weekend, but for the money, we could go somewhere we've never been before - booze isn't that cheap, the weather is never guaranteed and with resources dwindling, it might be the last one for a while.
But I think I've said that most years, and I only missed last year because of my wedding...... Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: jpchenet on June 04, 2010, 06:05:09 pm Im also scratching around to justify it this year - it's an awesome weekend, but for the money, we could go somewhere we've never been before - booze isn't that cheap, the weather is never guaranteed and with resources dwindling, it might be the last one for a while. But I think I've said that most years, and I only missed last year because of my wedding...... Add to that the fact that you are "Official Founder of the "I'm never missing Le-Mans again" club....." and I'm guessing you'll be there next year!! ;-) Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Jay (Team Cannonball) on June 04, 2010, 06:48:26 pm I missed last year for the 1st time (to get wed) in 7 and trust me when it came 3pm on Saturday sitting watching the start on Europsort I said never again will I miss this. This year the anticipation is far greater as a result
Stay away for a year only makes the hunger come back. Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: mike(liverpool boys) on June 05, 2010, 04:10:32 pm Just got my holiday schedule this morning for my training at gosport next year. Thursday night to monday could be done next year as long as funds allow it ;D

Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Martini...LB on June 05, 2010, 10:31:26 pm I will keep the lights on, in Guernsey, until I go to the Isle of Man next week on a corporate do AND i have a photographers pass for the racing... how good is that. Sad to be miss the LM24 but will be going to the Classic with a great bunch of guys from the North East - Alfa fans and drivers.

Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Gordonwr on June 06, 2010, 01:14:17 am Will be leaving within the hour, all packed up ( I'm still amazed how it all fits in the quattro ) and ready to go.
Had a good day at Chatsworth and for once it was sunny with no rain !! The usual collection of some trying to protect their priceless toys , and the nutters at the water splash wihthout any water giving it large and taking to the grass for 50yds or so just missing the rather solid trees! The guys in the " buggies " were loopy, putting it mildly!! Looking forward to seeing some of you over the water, have a safe trip everybody !! Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Brad Zarse on June 06, 2010, 01:23:38 am I hate this bit - the stories of everyone leaving early, and being itching to get out there......
My the party planning and building commence! Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Martini...LB on June 06, 2010, 11:31:57 am See you at the Classic, are you on MB? Hi Bazzer, I am at the LazyB ranch on MB with Dr Sconefinger and his northern chums. See you there, this year I am going to make a huge effort to visit more cars and see more racing. I am in training at the moment as it is 10.30 on a sunday morning and I have not had a drink, Sconey is in training too, in Devon on holiday with his family. It's a hard life. >Martini...LB Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: termietermite on June 06, 2010, 11:58:43 am The sun's trying to peep throught the clouds so we're setting off for Jacobins shortly. Please don't turn off those lights as I should be back later with a few pics (assuming no repeat of last year when I discovered my poor camera had suffered more than I'd realised in the crash. Never mind, nice new D300 to play with ;D - there has to be some compensation).
All those leaving today - drive carefully and beware of the flics (don't forget they like motorway services areas and their 50/30 limits too!) Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: Fran on June 06, 2010, 04:08:13 pm Right - its finally stopped raining in Manchester long enough to get the car packed up! Managed to squeeze the pushbike in (although it seems much bigger and heavier than my previous pushies....)
Should be leaving in about half an hour and getting to Expo Tuesday afternoon (scenic route, not Sunday driver, honest .....) - just got to re-re-check "The Folder"! Safe journey everyone, see you over there...... :) F Title: Re: Leave the lights on and have a good one Post by: smokie on June 06, 2010, 06:20:34 pm I'll be at work... Mrs is away this week though so spent yesterday afternoon/evening on some very strong cider, went to one of the local Indian's for the buffet Sunday lunch and I have a night planned out on Wed to a blues piano gig in Marlow (or somewhere that way). Will be checking in here though...
