Title: Anyone leaving Blighty for LM on Thursday 10th with a spare seat?
Post by: Grand_Fromage on June 01, 2010, 09:29:13 pm
The lovely Rosanne was originally planning to travel down with me on the 5th but is now unable (due to unforeseen work commitments) to come until Thursday 10th June. If anyone has a spare seat that is heading to La Sarthe next Thursday and wouldn't mind giving her a ride, then please get in contact as soon as you can.

Many thanks.

GF

You should have PM. If not let me know (I can't find the message I wrote and hit send on in the outbox).

She did also stipulate "no nutters or perverts" but I decided not to include that in the original post, as it might exclude a significant proportion of the CA forum demographic. <grin> :o)

wouldn't mind giving her a ride,

Yet....

"The lovely Rosanne was originally planning to travel down with me"

I think she may wish to re-evaluate her expectations.....

Sorry I can't help, but at least my musings keep the subject hot for the casual users......

It's a shame Trayboy is traveling down on Tuesday as he would have made the perfect chaperon for her  ;D

I'm sure a word in his shell could lead to a re-arrangement - especially given his form last night!

Think there's still plenty of seats on my personal Boeing 737 which AJW and I are using to fly from Leeds to CDG. Train to Le Mans in an hour and 40 and both modes of transport have bars!!!!
We are jolly decent types and can assure you that the young lady will come to no harm whatsoever.

Fran - do you doubt me? One quick look in Burke's Peerage will confirm my status as a Lord of this Sceptered Isle, this noble Albion. I'm shocked that you would cast such doubts and question the reputation of a Lord of the Realm in this way.
I am tempted to pay a visit with my court to Expo and show you my ermine cloak, breeches and dandy buckled shoes. Will that convince you? Shall I bring flaggons of wine and hearty ale?

Minibus? Schminibus!
What self respecting lady would want to share a minibus with a bunch of uncouth blokes when she could recline in comfort on my jet, tin of Heineken (walk in fridge??) and a bag of salted pretzels in hand with the company of sophisticated noblemen to entertain her?

She could relax in the comfort of the first class transit lounge at CDG whilst awaiting the arrival of the Royal Train (specially chartered) to whisk her silently to Le Mans.

Come on Robbo, even Fran's thinking about it now!!

Quite an apt anthem for the Albion then Steve?

Come on over to Expo any time your worshipfulness - and if you can manage to bring along a roast suckling pig or two all the better!

However you have misunderstood my initial doubts, it wasnt your entry in Burkes that I was questioning, it was "We are jolly decent types and can assure you that the young lady will come to no harm whatsoever".   ;D

Would you still require our humble accomodation your Lordship now that your plans for the Le Mans week seem to have taken a turn for the more luxurious?

Anyway should the Lady decide to travel with his Lordship in cattle class then be a pal and introduce her to some of your sophisticated continental mates camped on Houx.  ;)

Absolutely Bas - I can't think of anything more luxurious than the Dutch entertainment and hotel centre on Houx.
If the young lady decides to accept our honest invitation then of course she will be invited to meet all of my sophisticated Dutch and Danish friends. Peter might even be allowed out of his campervan but only under close supervision of course!!!!

We would have to stipulate no orange underpants as witnessed last year (I have the video don't forget!!)

Many thanks for the generous offers of getting me to France (although I can't even pretend to understand the vast majority of conversation on this thread).
Unfortunately, the unforeseen work commitments that were keeping me in London until Wednesday, have now been extended at short notice to Thursday. This means I would be pushing it to get a lift to Le Mans on Friday.  :(
So, I will be flying instead (all being well) on Friday afternoon.
Shame, as I would have appreciated the company.
Although, I'm afraid I would have been a terrible disappointment, as Mr Fromage seems to have posted a terribly photoshopped version of myself on the forum. I don't know what he was thinking. I'm really not that 'lovely.'
In that picture, I appear to have bitten into a nuclear sandwich, which has given me radioactive teeth! :-[

I think you'll find, that after a couple of days in a field, we all look pretty much the same anyway - the dirt hides our imperfections.  By the end of the weekend, I look like Brad Pitt.....

Just on this thread? - there are days when the entire forum makes no sense to me.

Glad you got sorted as I was going to suggest a friend of mine who also has to work until Thursday this year.
