Title: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Bob U on May 07, 2010, 03:06:13 pm Check out the line up for the Saturday night concert :o.
Hosted by Simon Cowell no doubt. That's one way to clear the place fast. http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/concerts Friday night is not too bad though. Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: jpchenet on May 07, 2010, 03:18:30 pm If would help if they could even get the names right!! ::)
Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Trackside Tripod on May 07, 2010, 03:30:09 pm Yeah, I know what you mean about the music. I went to the press and media day last wednesday, the motoring looks to be pretty good at this years event though!

Can I just add that the Yardbirds are only famous for the people that left. First some good guitarists, but then some more left, BUT what was left became Led Zeppellin. I think this must be the ones that left quietly. Jedward - @rseholes Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Lord Steve on May 07, 2010, 10:45:57 pm Lorry,
The only Yardbird that "became Led Zeppelin" was Jimmy Page. Neither Robert Plant, John Paul Jones nor John Henry Bonham were connected with the Yardbirds. Sorry if I'm being pedantic mate but Led Zeppelin a passion of mine! Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Barry on May 09, 2010, 08:02:50 pm If Wilko Johnson isn't playing guitar with Dr Feelgood ( and he's not), then they can't call theselves the Feelgoods, 'cos Lee is dead. RIP.
They ain't doing it right. Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Lord Steve on May 10, 2010, 04:01:54 pm Lorry, The only Yardbird that "became Led Zeppelin" was Jimmy Page. RIP. They ain't doing it right. He was on TV on Sat night. Did you see him? I vaguely remember, though I did have a long day out on Saturday and was somewhat "over refreshed". I saw them arrive in Brighton, Jedward waved out the window of the conference centre to me. Also last week was a film by Julian Temple called 'Oil City Confidential', story of the Feelgoods rise to fame, very interesting, and Wilko still looks deranged. Watch out for a repeat, if you liked the band you will love the film. Just learnt the riff from "She does it right" by watching Wilko's little instructional vid on You tube. Title: Re: Siverstone Classic 2010 Post by: Mr. Rick on May 13, 2010, 04:48:49 pm The press conference on the media day last week said they'd specifically picked the Sat night line up to "attract a new audience". Exsqueeze me but what a pile of pish.
Much like everything else at Sitherstone these days, driven by cash and not integrity. The self appointed "home of British motorsport" can, quite simply "self-appoint" off! Will be going to the Classic this year as have obligations but don't intend to return until at least 2012 and only then if they celebrate the 30th anniverary of Group C in style. They were on the schedule this year but have been bumped as they try to entice the bike crowd along. It's quickly turning into historic motorsport for Sun readers! >:( Soap box away, passport and tent checked .. and focussing on France ;D |
