Title: Mulsanne Post by: Lord Steve on April 27, 2010, 07:07:17 am I seem to recall that last year there was a bit of an event in the village of Mulsanne - large barbecue / hog roast etc - on Mad Friday. Regretably I didn't make it but thought I'd make a real effort to get there this year if it's on again.
Did anyone go last year and, if so, what was it like? Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: Jules G on April 27, 2010, 10:15:43 am LS, you should pm Lowdrag, I think he had something to do with it inconjuction with the Pistonheads meet.
Jules G Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: garyfrogeye on April 27, 2010, 11:14:55 am Canada Phil and I popped down quite late in the afternoon (after St Saturnan, which took ages as the roads and detours held us up ) when the festivities were pretty much over. However we had a nice chilled out time sitting in one of the bars. Saw MG Mark there leaving as we arrived and also who I assume to be Lowdrag pulling away in the Jag.
Possibly worth a visit again but perhaps ealier this time to make more use of the facilities. Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: garyfrogeye on April 27, 2010, 11:16:36 am A bonus was that we got to drive the Frogeye down the Mulsanne on the way back to camp

Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: Gordonwr on April 27, 2010, 04:31:42 pm Popped in during the morning and quite a few cars there but not much else happening, we didn't stay very long so it may have picked up later on.
Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: amazing 1 on April 27, 2010, 05:29:19 pm This sounds like something I would like to do.
If something comes of it,count me in. This time I want to find somewhere in whatever village and sit at a cafe roadside and watch all the people and cars go by while enjoying some good beer and some local fare. Sounds like something to do. huh? ;D Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: nopanic - neil on April 27, 2010, 05:35:55 pm This sounds like something I would like to do. If something comes of it,count me in. Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: Snoring Rhino on April 27, 2010, 05:59:18 pm This sounds like something I would like to do. I would suggest Arnage as a good local village to do that, it's walkable from Blue, but better to thumb it, we got a lift from a recovery flat bed (only room for 2 in the cab, the ride on the flat bed was more exciting) and back with a french mini cab - more pissed than us, we survived! If something comes of it,count me in. V. informal, cars came and went, people milling around and a nice cafe round the corner. Went there mid-afternoon when it was busy, and then onto Arnage for the obligatory staek and frites and watching some early antics, before retiring to BN and parking up for the Friday night on the campsite. After that it gets rather hazy.......
MG Mark Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: Canada Phil on April 28, 2010, 05:29:22 am Hi Amazing,
as already mentioned by Gary and Mark. The St Saturnin (sp) event is well worth it for display of mostly old cars in a somewhat organized fashion. I guess my impression of the Mulsanne village outing was that of a pleasant drive from St Saturnin and parking in the street and walking to find the pub. If it were not for the company hardly worth doing. Mulsanne village is pleasant enough at other times. If you have not done the Parade in the city centre I would recommened it. Also a good place to sit in a cafe and people watch. See you in June Canada Phil Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: chop456 on April 28, 2010, 09:32:04 am This time I want to find somewhere in whatever village and sit at a cafe roadside and watch all the people and cars go by while enjoying some good beer and some local fare. Title: Re: Mulsanne Post by: termietermite on April 29, 2010, 08:20:55 pm Has anybody heard from Lynx as to whether or not Mulsanne is on again this year? I've had a look at their website and there's no mention as yet.
Personally I'll be at St Sat in the morning then probably sitting outside the bar at St Jean D'Asse for most of the afternoon.....
