Hi,
2009 was my first LM, but will not be my last.
Don't mind admitting on the ferry home i shed a tear or two (mainly at the state some people get them selve's into)!
Will be there next year. The girlfriend wanted to go next year. I told her firmly, but nicely that LM was not the place for someone who took 2 hour's to get ready for the cinema. Now she's an ex-girlfriend. Obviously did'nt like the thought of me enjoying myself! That would never do, a man enjoying himself with no woman to critiscise him for not putting the toilet seat down or replacing the top on the milk.
Went with some sound chap's who i had never seen/met before, but who made me very welcome. Was amazed at how ingenious they were. Even had satelite tv for watching LM, Settee. 3 fridges and 1 freezer for the beer. BBQ and light show.
Was surprised how many people went with million watt stereos but never went to the race! Why? They were just irritating, Like mosquito's or piles.
Been to many Motoring events, GP's, Historic racing, Touring cars, banger racing all sorts. But when you stand at the side of the Mulsanne staight at 3am Listening for the Aston Martins, seeing the brake discs glowing as they slow down. There is only one word for it, amazing. I will be back.

I have been to Le-Mans and other do's with Club Arnage countless times. I can honestly say, I've never seen a true Lady there.
Weena is about as close as we get I'm afraid.....

oi f**kball, thank your lucky stars Deirdre doesn't read this forum...well not often, hope your balls are well attached. Weena is a Lady, but I'm sure she is well able to deal with the likes of you. ;)
Just remember us people on sick notes from matron, unable to travel and mix with people.
Now that is a very fair point - Made in a slightly scary manner, but no matter - I'd completely forgotten that Deirdrie was indeed on hand last time I was in Le-Mans - unfortunately that weekend, I did my best impression of a drunk newt, and had completely forgotten.
I would like to re-engineer that statement. In my whole time going to Le-Mans I have only ever seen ONE lady....and she was married to Peter. The rest are all Melans....mainly - and as Weena says - we only allow them to come so that we don't have to wash up, and have someone pretty to look at sat quietly in the corner :) Where DID I put the photo of the black pudding, and the Grundon bin?? >:)
And Peter - Deal with me?? Last time we went out she nearly killed me!!

Peter - Deidrie can talk to Dadda - Happily - In fact, as long as he's the only one she goes for, I'm quite happy. Actually - My dad made me to say she wasn't a lady - so it's all his fault, and all violent behaviour should be directed towards him....and definately not me...no no no no... it was all him....honest guv :)

Fair enough Peter, but have you seen how the "Magic List" thread about the ACO ticketting system turned into a foul thread about sex with farmyard animals within four posts? I know this is CA but that must surely be some kind of record.
It's a bloody disgrace and I'm seriously questioning my continued membership of CA. >:(
