Title: Ripped off Post by: Snoring Rhino on October 21, 2009, 08:03:24 pm I thought I was going to see Green Day at the O2 on Friday, seems like I have been ripped off on a scam site, Uk Ticket Factory, they dont exist and have no tickets, unlike the Ticket Factory which is genuine but only books for the NEC. Right now I'm down £129. Apprently, if you are charged in € it's likely to be a scam (I paid €155 to a t*att in Budapest) Will get on to bank, but paid with DD card so not sure if I have and protection.
Not Happy. Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: geoffd on October 22, 2009, 09:33:42 am Personally I'd also cancel my debit card ASAP and get a new one, just in case.....
But it does beg the question as to why an outfit with UK in the name would be charging €'s for an event in the UK, and be based in Budapest! Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: Steve Pyro on October 22, 2009, 09:47:11 am I'll only book direct or use a known company as approved by the venue such as Ticketmaster. Caveat Emptor is my (two) middle names.
Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: Snoring Rhino on October 22, 2009, 07:35:41 pm Yes, daft on reflection, although I didnt know it was going to Budapest untill checking my bank account. I have had 3 emails from them assuring me and saying they will refund my money - although I have cancelled my card, so it might be an issue if they genuinly do try and give me my money back (not going to give them my new one!!!)....... hum, maybe, believe it when I see it....
On a positive note have got better tickets at a lower price (ok fleebay but going to guys house to pick them up - if it goes wrong will be PM'ing Mr S Pyro Brown for a contract job) so Tally Ho, we're off to see Green Day - always thought they would be the ideal LM band ... although a riot may result... Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: Brad Zarse on October 22, 2009, 09:40:52 pm Enjoy old man.....
And don't tell me ANYTHING about it until I've seen them on Saturday. You'll enjoy every minute - they're worth every penny of the £250 you will have paid for them when all is said and done!! Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: Snoring Rhino on October 25, 2009, 05:34:15 pm Well we made it and it was worth all the hasle, Green Day were excelent.
I can recomend the Express Hotel, 20 mins walk, we got it for £78 BB (booked on HotelsDirect RRP£160), considering we heard that parking was £25 at the O2 quite a bargin. Title: Re: Ripped off Post by: Brad Zarse on October 25, 2009, 08:56:58 pm I went the following night. My experience was slightly different to that of my old man I suspect due to the fact that he was seated, and I had standing tickets....
I'm bruised, battered, aching, dehydrated and exhausted, but I think I might have seen my all time favourite band do the best gig of their career last night. Absolutely world class, old school Green Day. The moshpit last night made le-mans look like a calm and sensible event - I'm still buzzing from the whole experience 24 hrs later! |
