Title: Mosport ALMS 2009
Post by: Canada Phil on August 31, 2009, 02:58:48 am
I made it to mosport for the ALMS round. With temps in the 13 to 17 C range and rain it felt damn cold. While it was a small entry it was a quality field of cars that made the effort to com e to Canada. GT2 was the biggest entry and the new Corvettes were there. Turn 10 sticker on the back of #3. I will not try and describe all the action but it was a very exciting race. The fast BMW s ran into problems and were soon out of contention. however the Ferrari 430 gave the Corvettes a run for the lead of GT2 and traded 1st place a few times with #4 and pit stops were the final decider putting #3 into the(class) lead with the Ferrari hounding Jan all the way to the finish line.
Hope that makes sense. Met a few old friends and drank a few beers...  :o

Phil,
Glad to hear you had a good time, as you said however, it looked chilly.  The Mrs and I watched it on Speed, we gave you a wave everytime they showed the crowd at the Moss hairpin.

Hi Lee,
A few snaps but not what you would call pictures. I did not notice the sticker on Patron car.
The arrival of Corvette in GT2 has made GT2 the class most people were following though I sat beside a BMW  fan and there were some tofosi the vast majority were Corvette supporters even though Ron was not in the car. Petit not likely but I never say never.
